The six cemeteries of Hyltebruk Parish are places of tranquility, memories, and encounters throughout life. Here we meet people in both sorrow and gratitude, in farewells and hope. We are now looking for a cemetery worker who wants to help care for these places with care, respect, and responsibility. Hyltebruk Parish has seven churches and five parish halls, along with other buildings that the custodian service manages and maintains.

About the position

As a church custodian with us, you will serve during worship services and at funerals, baptisms, and weddings, ensuring that the church space is in good order and handling practical and technical tasks. You will also work on the maintenance and upkeep of our cemeteries and with cleaning of parish halls and churches, which also includes simpler maintenance and supervision of our properties. The position includes weekend duties according to a rolling schedule.

In the role of church custodian, you will meet many visitors and participants in our activities, who come in both joy and sorrow, which places high demands on good social skills.

Your tasks will include lawn mowing, pruning, hedge trimming, and other ongoing cemetery maintenance. Planting and care of grave borders are included. The work is performed using both hand tools and machinery, such as wheel loaders. You will work both independently and in a team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a developed sense of good service and a holistic view, who has the drive and desire to develop work methods and routines.

You have training in gardening and landscape maintenance or another comparable education in green space. Practical skills in carpentry are an advantage.

Your physical capacity is good, and you have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You have some mechanical knowledge and a B driver's license. To be eligible for the position, you must be a member of the Church of Sweden.

The position is broad with several different tasks, requiring you to be responsible, adaptable in your work methods, and able to see all our activities from a holistic perspective.
