We are looking for an experienced automation engineer for an assignment with our client in Västerås within manufacturing technology in a technically complex and safety-critical industrial environment. The assignment is suitable for you who enjoy both practical and analytical work and who want to contribute to the modernization of production and control systems.

In the role of automation engineer, you will work with the design and development of manufacturing equipment related to process automation. A central focus of the assignment is to convert older control systems to more modern solutions, where you participate throughout the entire chain, from analysis and programming to documentation and commissioning.

The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with project groups within manufacturing technology.

Examples of tasks:

• Design and further development of automation solutions for manufacturing equipment
• Conversion of control systems, primarily from ABB AC450 to ABB AC800M
• PLC programming and adaptation of control systems
• Assessment of the scope of work and technical solutions
• Technical documentation
• Participation in testing and commissioning
• Collaboration in project form as well as independent work

You will be employed as a consultant at Consensus but will work at the client's location in Västerås. It is an assignment for at least 1 year with the possibility of extension.

We are looking for someone with a strong technical interest and experience in automation within industrial operations. You are structured, solution-oriented, and have a high safety mindset in everything you do.

We see that you have:

• Relevant technical education, at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Experience from the manufacturing industry, preferably 4 years or more, but we do not exclude you if you have shorter experience
• Several years of practical experience in PLC and automation work
• Very good knowledge of ABB AC450 and ABB AC800M; it is also good if you have experience with other control systems such as ABB 800xA, Siemens S7, and Allen-Bradley, but it is not a requirement.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English.
• Swedish citizenship.
