The Culture School in Gothenburg is urgently seeking a substitute music teacher for teaching trumpet, trombone, and brass.

The Culture School in Gothenburg offers children and young people aged 6–19 the opportunity to develop their creativity in music, dance, theater, visual arts, film, circus, and other art forms. The activities are available in all four areas of the city and take place during children's and young people's free time – after school as well as during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This substitute position is located in the Northeast area.

Responsibilities

As a music teacher, you will teach children and young people in trumpet and trombone within the Culture School's long courses. The teaching is conducted in groups. You will collaborate with colleagues in ensemble and orchestra activities and participate in joint planning and development of the teaching.

The teaching takes place at various locations in the Northeast school area and primarily occurs on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Your responsibilities include:

• planning, executing, and following up on teaching in trumpet and trombone
• participating in and contributing to ensemble and orchestra activities
• collaborating with colleagues on teaching, planning, and execution
• meeting children and young people based on their different conditions and needs

Timeframes and General Content

Monday 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Meeting time, planning, preparations, and teaching in trumpet and trombone.

Tuesday 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Meeting time, planning, preparations, teaching in trumpet and trombone, and Drums n Brass led together with a colleague.

Thursday 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Orchestra activities within the Culture School's El Sistema program in Hammarkullen, in collaboration with other educators.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• has a music teacher degree with a focus on brass instruments or other education combined with relevant experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
• has experience teaching trumpet and trombone
• has experience teaching children and young people
• has good collaborative skills and an inclusive pedagogical approach

Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
