We are looking for a construction manager in earthworks for the Slussar Trollhätte Canal program, Lilla Edet, on behalf of the Swedish Transport Administration.

The assignment is a multi-year consulting assignment with varying scope. The estimated employment rate is approximately 75% during the first year and is expected to increase to 100% thereafter. The base location is Gothenburg.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The assignment involves working as a resource consultant in the role of construction manager for earthworks within the Slussar Trollhätte Canal Program, focusing on the E11 New Lock and fairway project in Lilla Edet. The assignment is carried out within a TEM contract and includes work in both the design phase (Phase 1) and execution phase (Phase 2).

The role involves being part of the client organization, with close and daily collaboration with the contractor, largely through co-location. The construction manager contributes specialist expertise in earthworks, supports production, and ensures monitoring of time, cost, quality, work environment, and environment. The assignment also includes knowledge transfer to the Swedish Transport Administration's staff and, if necessary, support to the Road and Water department within the Large Projects business area.

Responsibilities

• Support the contract manager and contractor in production issues and actively contribute to problem-solving • Participate in work, technical, and coordination meetings as well as safety rounds • Review work preparations and carry out checks according to the internal control plan • Monitor progress, quality, work environment, and environment, and ensure that deviations are documented, addressed, and not repeated • Conduct inspections and participate in assessments, following up on inspection remarks • Ensure that quality and production documentation from the contractor is delivered according to contract requirements • Verify the contractor's costs, diaries, and ongoing invoicing • Prepare documentation for changes regarding time, cost, and content, and support the handling of notifications and changes • Work with monitoring, forecasting, and index management within the technical area based on the contract's calculations • Participate in design work, including procurement of mass reception for clay masses • Represent the client in dialogue with the contractor regarding buildability, production methods, capacity, control programs/plans, uncertainties, and risk management • Provide support to the client's cost coordinator regarding times, costs, and contribute to feedback and knowledge transfer within the project

Requirements (Note, mandatory)

Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

A degree from a technical university or a combination of education and work experience that the Swedish Transport Administration considers equivalent in the technical field of earthworks.

Good knowledge and experience of AMA Construction.

In the last fifteen years, you must have worked at least a total of three years in the role of construction manager for earthworks in infrastructure projects involving excavation and transportation of clay masses to a total amount of over 50,000 m3, where the clay to be removed from the work area is both stackable and non-stackable.

In the last fifteen years, you must have worked at least a total of three years with tasks in infrastructure projects involving the execution of mixing columns to a scope of 30,000 meters.

You must have experience in the role of construction manager for earthworks in infrastructure projects where tasks have included managing risks in work areas that may arise when the project is carried out in landslide-sensitive areas consisting of highly sensitive clay and quick clay. Tasks may include work preparations and management of restrictions in the work area, and the consultant must have held a role equivalent to a full-time position for three years in the last fifteen years.

Desirable

You have experience in procurement regarding the reception of clay masses for infrastructure projects.

You possess personal maturity, i.e., you are secure, stable, unpretentious, and have self-awareness. For the role of construction manager, it is advantageous to see relationships in their proper perspective, distinguish between the personal and professional. You behave in a manner that is adapted to the situation.
