The Laboratory Medicine Department is seeking a molecular biologist or PhD biomedical analyst for the Clinical Microbiology unit.

The Laboratory Medicine Department has a collective responsibility for the laboratory medical services provided at the laboratories within Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. We run a broad operation in the fields of clinical chemistry, bacteriology, virology, immunology, transfusion medicine including therapeutic plasma exchange treatment, pathology, cytology, and molecular genetics. The department also includes Sterility Technology. Nearly 300 people work here with routine diagnostics, research and development, and education.

Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the three acute hospitals in the county where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. Both in 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category of medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, and avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. USÖ also tops the results in the areas of heart, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has approximately 3500 employees. Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

Molecular biologist or PhD biomedical analyst with practical experience in clinical microbiological laboratory operations within healthcare. Experience with Next Generation Sequencing as clinical diagnostics and bioinformatics analysis is advantageous. We place great importance on having a good attitude as well as a sense of service and responsibility.
