Working as a Cook or Meal Staff

As a cook or meal staff in elderly care, you will work during the day preparing food from scratch. You will also work with special diets and food with adapted consistency. The job includes all tasks in a large kitchen, such as salad preparation, dishwashing, cleaning, self-control, as well as serving and packing goods for our nursing homes.

In the kitchens, cooks and meal staff work together. The cooks plan, prepare, and cook the food from scratch and also make some product orders. The meal staff work with preparations, packing, and serving. Both cooks and meal staff help with dishwashing and cleaning.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys practical work and has an interest in food
  • Thrives in meeting people
  • Is responsible, positive, and curious
  • Wants a summer job that feels meaningful
  • Is at least 18 years old
  • Has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
  • To work as a cook, you need to have completed a secondary education in restaurant and food or equivalent adult education as a cook.
  • Experience from kitchens is a plus, but the most important thing is your attitude and willingness to learn.
