About the job

We are now looking for a biomedical analyst as a specialist-BMA for the sample submission section in Halmstad.

The role as a specialist-BMA means that you have special responsibilities within the section and are expected to:

• Ensure daily operations and that current job descriptions are available.
• Ensure routines for supervision and authorization.
• Participate in regional operational and review meetings.
• Participate in the commissioning of instruments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement work of the organization according to lean methodology.
• Conduct the section's operations according to the ISO 15189 standard for medical laboratories.

The job also involves clinical and regional collaboration with specialist-BMAs and other colleagues in various professional categories, as well as maintaining good communication with other stakeholders within Region Halland. You also have an interest in developing and nurturing relationships with transport and other staff in departments that submit their samples to us for analysis or forwarding to external laboratories. As a specialist-BMA, you have great opportunities to influence the section's operations and to develop in your professional role.

About the workplace

At the Department of Clinical Chemistry in Halmstad, we conduct a high-tech operation in constant development. There is a large range of analyses with sections for sample submission, general/immunochemistry, hematology, coagulation, protein/allergy, special chemistry, molecular biology, and sampling.

Our largest staff category is biomedical analysts, but you will also have laboratory assistants, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, molecular biologists, hospital chemists, and doctors as colleagues. We have a very good cohesion in the staff group and look forward to welcoming a new colleague.

Within Medical Diagnostics, there is good collaboration within and across specialty boundaries, all to ensure that our patients receive the best possible diagnostics and to create efficient processes.

You will work very flexibly with us and staff sections that are part of on-call duty. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed biomedical analyst with a university degree in biomedical laboratory science or is a licensed biomedical analyst with a laboratory assistant degree.

The work with us means that you will work independently but also be part of a larger team. We see that you, as an applicant, have good collaboration skills, are structured, and quality-conscious. Experience in pre-analytical work is an advantage. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is a requirement.
