REGION HALLANDHallands län, Varberg

to apply for the job
Are you our new employee at Region Halland's unit for counseling aimed at children and young people with mental health issues?
We are now looking for someone who wants to be the first point of contact for all new patients and be part of our development journey!
About the workplace
The Psychiatric Administration has been tasked since spring 2021 to build and develop the operation “A Path In - Contact Center for Children's and Young People's Mental Health in Halland”.
The unit is responsible for the assessment and triage of all referrals regarding children and young people with mental health issues seeking care in Halland. This operation aims to ensure accessible, safe, effective, and equitable care at the right level. The new model means that children and young people and their parents can call the “A Path In” helpline for an initial assessment of mental health issues. If the assessment indicates a need for care interventions, an appointment will be scheduled at the appropriate care level for further contacts. The unit is also responsible for counseling and follow-up of patients' care. The operation is open during daytime and is based in newly renovated, fresh premises centrally located in Varberg.
Job Responsibilities
As an employee with us, you will be responsible for the first contact via phone with all new patients in the region and create continuity in the initial stage of care contacts. Together with your colleagues, you will receive initial calls from families who may need interventions from the care system. You will primarily work with our triage procedure where you conduct structured phone interviews with families, thereby creating a basis for continued assessment and treatment work within the care system. You will administer the initial stage of the contact and schedule visits at the relevant reception in consultation with the patient. If you assess that the family's issue does not belong to the health care system's mission, you will guide them to other suitable interventions in the community. Telephone counseling is an important part of the contact with families.
We offer a structured introduction program where you will receive internal training and have an appointed mentor. You will have close support from your manager and colleagues in your assessment work. An important part of the role as an employee with us is to contribute to our continuous improvement work. The operation will be in an intensive development phase where both internal processes and collaboration with external partners need to be in focus.
Qualifications
We are now looking for someone who wants to further develop Region Halland's unit for counseling and triage regarding children and young people with mental health issues. You who apply for the position should be a licensed nurse. Experience in child and adolescent psychiatric work is an advantage.
We prefer that you have good knowledge of community resources for children, young people, and their families, as well as knowledge about children's and adolescents' mental health and illness. You have a professional and constructive way of meeting patients. You need to have good collaboration skills as the position involves close cooperation both internally with various care providers within Region Halland and externally with other actors such as social services and school health care. You can handle periods of high workload well with the ability to prioritize. You are also accustomed to using a computer as a work tool. It is an advantage if you have an interest in administration and have experience working with the systems TeleQ and Cosmic. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, to communicate with both patients and colleagues and to document your work. Additional language skills such as English and Arabic are desirable. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
Warm welcome with your application! In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection and interviews, which means you may be contacted before the application deadline. We read all incoming applications.
