Description

Due to an upcoming retirement, we need to recruit a biomedical analyst for 'Clinical Lung and Allergy Research, KI Campus South/Flemingsberg. You will be part of a research group where you will be responsible for the laboratory implementation of research studies in close collaboration with two research nurses as well as clinical researchers and doctoral students. The group also collaborates closely with preclinical researchers and other staff at KI, as well as internationally.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Laboratory responsibility at Clinical Lung and Allergy Research
  • Laboratory handling of clinical specimen materials from patients and healthy volunteers (blood, urine, saliva, sputum, and exhaled samples) which includes various forms of sample processing, aliquoting, and freezing for biobanking
  • Handling of samples during research bronchoscopy including blood samples, biopsies, wash fluid, and brush samples
  • Participation in biochemical, immunological, and histological analyses
  • Development and updating of laboratory manuals and protocols
  • Data management in databases and study documents
  • Management and organization of biobank samples in freezers or other storage
  • Handling of sample shipments to partners in Sweden and abroad
  • Preparation of documentation for sample shipments (MTA, Material Transfer Agreement).
  • Participation in study meetings for reviewing research results, both in Sweden and abroad
  • Annual chemical inventory

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with significant experience in clinical and/or translational research. You are flexible, meticulous, quality-oriented, and have good organizational skills. You seek a high level of personal responsibility and appreciate teamwork. You will be an important person in a collaborative effort within a group that drives many diverse projects, including collaboration with clinical researchers and basic researchers both at KI and within the Region, as well as nationally and internationally. This requires good communication skills in both written and spoken form.

Knowledge of laws and regulations governing research studies is an advantage, as is knowledge of GCP (Good Clinical Practice). We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Since the work takes place in an international research environment, good knowledge of English is an advantage, as well as good IT skills.
