Process Operator – Permanent Position

Location: Sulfur Acid Plant, Helsingborg

At Kemira in Helsingborg, we have three plants: Sulphur Line, Water Line, and Bleaching Line.

Within the Sulphur Line, we have three production units: Sulfuric Acid, Energy Center, and Fennosize. In the Sulfuric Acid unit, we primarily produce sulfuric acid, liquid sulfur dioxide, and sodium bisulfite for the paper and pulp industry, as well as electricity, district heating, and district cooling for both internal and external use.

We are now looking for two process operators (one relief operator and one shift worker) for permanent positions in the Sulfuric Acid unit.

About the Role

As a process operator with us, you will be an important part of a dedicated and skilled team that together is responsible for stable, efficient, and safe operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor, control, and optimize the process to ensure high quality and operational reliability
  • Perform routine checks and actively participate in improvement work, 5S, and safety rounds
  • Prepare and issue work permits according to applicable safety procedures
  • Handle chemicals and perform basic mechanical maintenance
  • Troubleshoot during operational interruptions and contribute to safe and stable production
  • Be responsible for the loading of our products

What We Want You to Contribute:

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

  • Technical or process-oriented high school education, or several years of experience in the chemical process industry
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of English
  • Driving license B

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience with control systems or similar process systems
  • Experience with business systems, preferably SAP
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite and generally good computer skills

Working Hours

  • Relief Operator: Daytime from 07:10 to 15:45. Shift work may occur as needed, for example, during sickness and vacations, especially during the summer period.
  • Shift Worker: 3-shift. Placement on shifts occurs when introduction and training are completed and when a vacant shift position is available.

The introduction and training period is extensive and it may take about two years before you are fully trained and independent in the role.
