Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a student assistant to help us prepare documentation for upcoming procurements. The tasks include conducting market research and environmental monitoring, investigating how other departments in the administration work with procurement documentation, and exploring the opportunities for environmental monitoring available in the municipality's existing systems. The goal of the assignment is to evaluate and propose how the department of municipal technology can work more strategically in the future to develop procurement documentation.
The student will have ownership of the assignment and is expected to be self-sufficient and independently drive the work forward, with support from a supervisor.
As a student assistant in Malmö city, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge in parallel with your studies through assignments within our operations. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, and salary. The working hours can amount to approximately 10-15 hours per week.
Qualifications
The student assistant program is aimed at those who have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the assignment period.
You are studying public administration/organization, economics, preferably with a focus on business economics, procurement/purchasing, environmental science, or another education that we assess as equivalent. Experience in public administration is an advantage.
As a person, you are self-sufficient, structured, and have good analytical skills. We would like you to have an interest in sustainable development and purchasing, as well as an understanding of the public sector. Since the assignment is time-limited and takes place alongside your studies, you need to be able to independently plan your work. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
About the Workplace
The municipal technology department works for a well-functioning urban environment and offers locally environmentally adapted and economically efficient comprehensive solutions for operations, maintenance, care, preparedness, and technical services within streets, parks, and properties. We currently have about 690 employees in municipal technology and generate approximately 1 billion in revenue.
The service administration is divided into five departments and offers everything from transportation services to IT and responding to citizens in Malmö city's contact center. We maintain streets, parks, green spaces, and beaches, manage all buildings of Malmö city, and ensure that our school students receive good and nutritious food. Together, we are a smart service partner to the city.

Information about the Position
Employment type: Temporary
Scope: Hourly paid. The assignment includes approximately 120 hours over 14 weeks.
Working hours: As a student assistant, you will work approximately 10-15 hours per week during the day. The working hours are largely flexible. You will agree with your supervisor on working hours that can be combined with your studies.
