We are looking for a meal developer for a parental leave substitute in Östersund Municipality. This position is suitable for you who want to take responsibility in a structured development assignment and who thrives in an organization where teamwork, sharing of expertise, and mutual support are valued. The position is planned to start on June 1, 2026, and is intended to last for 8 months with a possible extension.
About the Assignment and Organization
The meal service in Östersund Municipality operates within a unified meal development organization with clear goals, common priorities, and a focused working method. The development work is based on follow-up, dialogue, and collaboration with the operations, where knowledge and experiences are utilized.
You will work alongside a meal development colleague and in close collaboration with managers, chefs, and support functions. The assignment encompasses preschool, school, high school, and elderly care. Responsibilities and development issues are shared within the team, providing both continuity and support in the work.
Job Responsibilities
As a meal developer, you have a central responsibility for developing, following up, and ensuring the quality of meals within the sector. The work is varied and combines operational work with analysis and development at a strategic level.
The assignment includes:
- Collaborating with chefs and operations to develop sustainable and appropriate menus.
- Monitoring and working towards a balanced food budget.
- Driving development work related to quality, customer satisfaction, and environmental goals.
- Contributing to communication regarding meal work, both internally and externally.
- Working with food procurement and contracts alongside your meal development colleague.
- Ensuring and following up on self-control related to meal operations.
You will plan, support, and follow up on the practical work in the operations and also participate in strategic work at the sector and municipal levels. The work involves analysis, coordination, meetings, and regular operational visits.
The recruitment process may include both interviews and practical tests to create a good mutual understanding of the assignment.
Location: Östersund.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Relevant education, such as a nutritionist, dietitian, food science, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Good knowledge of special diets.
- Driver's license (B).
- Good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
- Experience working in digital environments.
Desirable:
- Experience in development and change work.
- Communication skills.
- Procurement and/or self-control.

You contribute to good collaboration, are clear, and can engage in dialogue and make professional judgments.
