Manager for Administration at the Swedish Armed Forces

The Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems, FMTIS, is now seeking a manager for the administration unit where you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a well-functioning system management model within the unit.

About the organization

FMTIS has a collective responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and management of the Armed Forces' technical command support systems. The systems support military operations at sea, on land, and in the air – in Sweden and abroad. Our responsibility encompasses the entire chain, from facilities and transmission and carrier networks to applications, servers, and computers. Work is conducted at strategic, operational, and tactical levels.

About the position

The main task is to participate in planning, resource balancing, management, and follow-up of the work for the unit's management objects and ensure that the goals in the production/management plan are met.

You will coordinate and plan daily tasks of the underlying departments within production. Management is carried out to ensure that the command support systems are secure and functional throughout their entire technical lifespan.

The work should be supportive and aimed at increasing quality in terms of modernization, optimization, and operational benefits in both the short and long term using methods and tools. A crucial part of the job is close collaboration with the organization.

You will also be prepared to take responsibility for meetings at the unit level and provide support to the unit staff.

Main tasks

  • Provide direct support to the unit's Chief of Staff
  • Lead and coordinate the staff's operational activities
  • Lead or participate in temporarily assembled working groups and tasks
  • Be prepared to take responsibility for orders and corresponding meetings at the unit level
  • Be prepared to provide support to the unit staff

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Technical education and background in telecommunications, data communication, or another technical field deemed relevant by the employer for the position
  • Previous experience in ICT-related system management work
  • Good ability to express oneself in Swedish both orally and in writing
  • Good knowledge and understanding of processes and process management
  • Good knowledge of management roles within technical systems
  • Driving license B

You are responsible, engaged, and development-oriented with a sense of order and good planning skills, and you find it easy to prioritize.

You can easily switch between an overarching and operational perspective, prefer goal management, and involve your colleagues to create participation. You do not need to know everything, but you should be curious, flexible, and open!

Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement. The position is civilian. Salary: Individual salary setting.

The position involves business trips with overnight stays.
