At the surgical clinic, we care for patients with surgical diseases, both acute and chronic.

Our responsibilities include urology, vascular surgery, gastro surgery, and trauma.

On ward 101, the focus is on upper gastro and colorectal surgery.

Our staff includes doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants, and you can find us at the Central Hospital in Karlstad. We perform both planned and emergency surgeries around the clock, all year round. We welcome many students and are proud of the evaluations that show we are a great clinic to practice at.

We offer you a workplace characterized by a good atmosphere, space for personal initiatives, humor, and a distinct interest in education. We place great importance on interest and commitment to work based on patient-centered care.

Your Responsibilities

On the wards, care is provided based on the patient-centered care model, which means working in teams together with nurses.

Your responsibilities include, together with the nurse, being responsible for the execution of care, wound care, nutrition, mobilization after surgery, and certain medical technical tasks such as sampling and monitoring vital parameters.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant and preferably have a few years of experience in the profession. Competence in surgical care is an advantage.

You have a professional and stable work approach, good collaboration skills, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. You are service-oriented, have a good attitude, and a willingness and ability to help others. Your empathetic ability allows you to meet people with understanding and respect. It is important for us to find the right person for the task, and therefore we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
