Care Assistant at Österäng Elderly Home

Do you want to work at a smaller, family-like elderly home where both residents and staff feel comfortable and safe? At Österäng, you will experience a good atmosphere, close to nature, and a warm community – where relationships and interactions really matter.

Due to retirement, we are now looking for a care assistant for a night position. We are also seeking several care assistants for daytime work to enable a lower weekend workload.

There are four departments with 7-8 residents each. The size of the departments allows you to get to know each person and provide care based on individual needs, wishes, and privacy. We have our own kitchen that contributes to a homely atmosphere and pleasant meal times for the residents.

In the elderly care sector of Vetlanda municipality, we work for Esther's best – always focusing on the user and how we can strengthen their safety and independence.

As a care assistant, you will support the elderly in their daily lives – socially, culturally, and physically. You will have a varied job where you are an important part of a team alongside nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. We help each other across departmental boundaries, support each other when needed, and are never hesitant to call one another.

As part of the operation, we work with organized activities where we bake, play bingo, sing, read, and do gymnastics together. We also have a service assistant who relieves the care assistants.

Surveys show that residents feel safe, well treated, and appreciate their daily lives at Österäng – something we are proud of and actively work to maintain.

The night position is a permanent employment at 80 percent, with the possibility of flexible working hours up to 100 percent. Daytime positions are permanent employment at 80-100 percent, and lower working hours can also be considered depending on what we agree upon. Start date is according to agreement. Currently, the schedule involves working every other weekend, but the ambition with this recruitment is to expand the staff so that the number of weekends can be reduced in the future.

Qualifications

• We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant.
• For positions in the dementia unit, experience working with dementia or advanced training in dementia is required.
• We place great importance on your personal qualities.
