Category Manager in Strategic Purchasing
Do you have experience in strategic purchasing and thrive in a role where you can combine analysis, business acumen, and collaboration? We are currently seeking a Category Manager in strategic purchasing for an exciting role with our client.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Category Manager in strategic purchasing, you will be an important part of an experienced strategic purchasing team of around 20 people. You will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, driving the purchasing process from strategy and planning to execution. This position is suitable for you who enjoy many points of contact and close collaboration with both internal and external parties.
The role is located with our client in Örebro, an attractive employer in the global industrial market. You are expected to be on-site at the office in Örebro for the majority of your working time, but in the long run, there is the possibility to work from home about 1-2 days a week. Initially, the assignment extends until the end of the year, with a potential chance for extension.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and managing the supplier base within assigned categories
- Ensuring stable delivery capability, cost-effectiveness, quality, and flexibility
- Ensuring that suppliers meet requirements related to sustainability, environment, and ethics
- Collaborating cross-functionally internally as well as with suppliers and other international units
- Contributing to the development of purchasing strategies, processes, and working methods
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO
- Has experience in strategic purchasing, sourcing, sales, or a similar role focused on industry
- Is experienced in negotiations and has good business acumen
- Has experience with purchasing tools, processes, and preferably ERP systems
- Speaks and writes fluently in English; Swedish is a plus

You enjoy building relationships, communicating, and negotiating, and you have a strategic mindset combined with operational drive.
