About the workplace
The welfare of the future is our great challenge. To meet this challenge, we at the Employment Administration have a very important mission: We must enable residents receiving financial assistance to become self-sufficient as quickly as possible, while also helping employers find the right skills. We are about 400 colleagues in the administration, and our role is to provide residents with the right tools so they can take responsibility for their own development and livelihood.
We meet the challenge with a wide range of adult education and labor market initiatives – and we try new ways of working together with the business community, other administrations, authorities, and civil society. To succeed, we must dare, try new things, and find smart solutions.
The Employment area is responsible for ensuring that all residents receiving financial assistance participate in full-time activities. The work is done in cross-functional teams where efforts are tailored to the individual's needs to create the best possible path to self-sufficiency.
Job responsibilities
To enable more Helsingborg residents receiving financial assistance to participate in work-related activities, we are expanding our practical operations and will now start more café operations where we can offer our residents employment, work training, or internships.
You will work alongside colleagues who have a guiding and coaching role in the cafés to support employment staff towards regular work or studies. If necessary, you may also work at other workplaces.
You will plan and run the café operations, manage orders, and together with colleagues guide in baking and preparation of lighter lunches for the café, events, and meetings. Your role includes responsibility for ensuring that food and self-control are handled correctly and that routines for dishwashing and cleaning are in place. Your work also includes some administrative tasks, including invoice management and certain workplace safety work.
An important part of the mission is to guide our residents working in the operation to provide them with a foundation in the profession. You do this by highlighting the residents' strengths and areas for development. You will work together in a team with different competencies to enable pathways to work and studies together with residents and our various partners. A crucial key to success is that we believe in the residents' drive and abilities.
Qualifications
You need to have a high school education in kitchen and restaurant or bakery/pastry. We also prefer that you have a post-secondary education as a social pedagogue or similar. To succeed in the role, we are looking for someone who is forward-thinking, innovative, and humble and is not afraid to pitch in when needed. You enjoy working independently but also have a good demeanor and contribute to a positive atmosphere in the workplace.
We are looking for someone who:
- is a trained chef/cold dishes or baker/pastry chef, preferably with pedagogical experience and competence
- has experience and interest in supporting people with social issues
- has documented experience from working in kitchens, pastry shops, or cafés with experience in managing purchases/orders
- has good knowledge of food hygiene and self-control
- has a good ability to work supportively and motivatingly
- has good digital skills and can express themselves well in Swedish both orally and in writing
- has a driver's license for passenger cars
Experience in supervisory tasks and working with language development is an advantage.
Your personal qualities
Your personal qualities are important to us, so we want you to identify with the following:
- are a stable and attentive person who is used to working independently and making quick decisions
- are engaged, action-oriented, and responsible
- have good collaboration skills, easily create new contacts, and show drive and clarity in working with others
- have a good ability to support and motivate change and development with a positive attitude and remain steadfast even in challenging situations
- are a structured person who easily adapts to new conditions and requirements
