The Meal Unit is now looking for chefs for hourly employment who are skilled at creating delicious meals and a welcoming environment. Are you our next colleague?

Your tasks

We offer a varied job with collaboration with colleagues during the day. Planning, preparation, and cooking of meals are a large part of your everyday life, but dishwashing and other cleaning tasks are also included.

Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for ensuring that the food maintains good quality and contributes to inspiration and creativity. Our operations are open every day of the year, so we also work on weekends and public holidays, but you will not have to work late evenings.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with a high school education focused on hotel and restaurant management or other education combined with relevant experience for the position. You have previously worked as a chef and have experience working in large kitchens. You need to be computer literate and able to handle the Office suite. It is an advantage if you have experience with ordering and cash handling, but it is not a requirement. If you have experience from café operations, special diets, and cold kitchens, we see it as a plus. Since the work is physically demanding, it is important that you can handle physical tasks. We are a smoke-free workplace.

At the Meal Unit, we see food as an important part of life. We are proud of the opportunity to make a difference every day by contributing to a functioning everyday life for our customers. We have about 35 employees who deliver meals within the care and social services administration. Every day, 1500 lunches and 600 dinners are prepared, distributed across nine kitchens and restaurants. The meals are prepared as close to the customer as possible, with good ingredients and an increase in organic food. We also provide support in dietary and nutrition issues within the administration, and we believe it is important to have good systems and routines to ensure quality.

With us, customers should feel welcome and, of course, be satisfied with the food and our service. The goal is for customers to feel they have received a good meal and want to invite their friends on their next visit!
