We are looking for staff for the National Forest Inventory's reporting unit.
About the job
Do you want a broad and educational job where you contribute to knowledge base and statistics about Sweden's forests? With us, you will be part of our statistical analysis work. Your main task will be to ensure that our annual statistical production is carried out in the best possible way together with colleagues.
The role is varied and includes method development, data quality assurance, statistical analysis, and reporting of results. In addition to the annual statistical production, you will carry out assignments commissioned by researchers and authorities.
Your background
We are looking for someone who is educated as a forest engineer, biologist, statistician, or has equivalent qualifications. A PhD is an advantage. You have a genuine interest in forestry issues and are creative, solution-oriented, and communicative – both orally and in writing. The role requires flexibility and attention to detail as you will handle various tasks. Experience with statistical software (SAS/R etc.), database management, GIS, and forest inventory is advantageous.

About us
The Department of Forest Resource Management conducts education and research in the fields of forest remote sensing, forest inventory and sampling, forest planning, forest mathematical statistics, and landscape studies. The department is also responsible for the ongoing environmental analysis programs of the National Forest Inventory, National inventories of the landscape in Sweden, which includes inventories of coastal areas, mountains, grasslands, and deciduous forests, as well as butterflies and bumblebees. Our operations combine research and environmental analysis in interdisciplinary projects, providing unique opportunities to develop holistic concepts for sustainable use of natural resources. We have about 110 employees and during the summer months, about 90 seasonal employees in our field inventories. More information can be found at www.slu.se/srh (http://www.slu.se/srh).
