The Emergency Department in Umeå is Growing - We Are Hiring Nurses!
The Emergency Department in Umeå is growing - that's why we need more staff. We are now looking for nurses who want to contribute with commitment and competence to our department.
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.
Our emergency department is open 24/7 and receives sick and injured patients who need urgent care. This means that we work around the clock, both weekdays and weekends, and we receive approximately 47,000 patients per year in Umeå. At the emergency department, nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries work in teams alongside emergency physicians and doctors from various specialties. The work at the emergency department is qualified and requires flexibility and good collaboration skills. At our emergency department, you also have the option to choose a modified work schedule model 3-3, which allows for more recovery time.
New this year is that the primary care emergency service in Umeå is closing, and we will also open a primary care emergency unit under the emergency department's management. We do this by developing workflows and methods to streamline the handling of primary care patients with urgent issues. The goal is to create conditions for care in the right way, at the right place, and at the right time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel safe.
With us, you will meet patients of all ages and with all conceivable conditions, from minor injuries to acute and life-threatening situations. As a nurse, you are the one who creates structure when the pace is high, prioritizes the right actions, and with your confidence and professionalism makes both patients and colleagues feel they are in good hands.
In your role, you will perform triage, make medical assessments, and ensure that each patient receives the right care at the right time. You will work with sampling, medication management, monitoring vital parameters, handling medical technical equipment, and performing urgent care measures together with an engaged team of doctors, nursing assistants, and other specialists.
At the emergency department, you will have the opportunity to use your full clinical breadth while developing in line with the assignment. You will become an important part of a team where together you create safe, effective, and person-centered care for every individual who comes through the doors.
This is the job for you who want to be challenged, grow, and contribute every day to ensuring that people receive the right care at the right time. A job where you truly make a difference.
We want you to have a safe start with us, which is why you will receive an individually tailored introduction program when you start with us.
Does this sound interesting? Don't hesitate to apply!
Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, so don't wait to submit your application.
QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who thrive in a varied work environment and who have the ability to shift focus when the pace of work changes. You enjoy working under occasional pressure, and your confidence in your profession allows you to maintain calm and sharpness in your work.
You take independent responsibility for your tasks while also seeing the value of good collaboration and actively contributing to it by being present in a way that creates trust among patients, relatives, and colleagues.
