About the Workplace

In the city of Helsingborg, the Social Administration is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so that they can take an active part in society.

We have recently undergone an exciting organizational change focusing on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: authority, interventions and services, and housing. In addition to these main areas, there are various support functions. As a custodian, you will be part of the Property and Service Unit. The unit consists of a team that works with internal service; property and premises issues, reception, and conference. The various functions work closely together and collectively contribute to creating safe and well-maintained environments for both employees and clients.

Job Responsibilities

As a custodian with us, you will play a key role in ensuring competent and efficient property service throughout the administration. Within the operation, there are both office environments and residences and apartments within the housing social program. The work is varied. Job responsibilities include planning and performing service, repairing and taking care of housing, premises, and their inventory, but may also include maintenance of green areas and outdoor environments as needed. You will be a team leader and mentor for some of your colleagues.

We need a person close to operations who can provide our operations with security through quick and professional handling of matters. Some matters you will address yourself, while others you will be responsible for ensuring someone else handles.

You will work a lot with performing minor repairs and ongoing maintenance of housing and premises. The work includes minor moves, clearing blockages in sinks, drains, and toilets, receiving deliveries and assembling furniture, simpler painting work, and managing keys. You will work both independently and by involving the city's Property Management, property owners, our service and product suppliers, and your colleagues. You may also be involved in various local adaptation projects.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, it is important that you are practical, solution-oriented, and handy, as well as having a good ability to plan and coordinate.

As a person, you are self-driven, solution-oriented, and have a high work ethic and ability to collaborate. You are happy to share your knowledge with others and have a good ability to see the needs of the operation. You are motivated by providing good service and creating professional relationships and have good communication skills.

To thrive as a custodian with us, it is important that you enjoy working flexibly and having contact with people. The position requires that you can take your own initiatives in line with the best interests of the operation.

We believe that you have a background that shows a genuine interest in premises and property service. You likely have vocational upper secondary education and at least three years of work experience that the employer assesses as relevant for the position. If you have post-secondary vocational training, it is an advantage. Previous experience in leadership, mentoring, or project management is also an advantage.

The position involves driving to and between operations within the city, and therefore we require a B driver's license. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is necessary.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
