RESPONSIBILITIES

As a water and wastewater engineer with us, you will work with drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater issues, with a particular focus on collaboration, communication, and knowledge exchange. The tasks will be adapted to your background but may include:

• Development and management in our maintenance system VA-banken
• Operation and renewal issues in the water and wastewater network
• Analysis of operational disturbances, capacity shortages, and vulnerabilities
• Fieldwork
• Planning and prioritization of renewal and maintenance of the pipeline network
• Participation in design, construction, and follow-up
• Collaboration on developments, new connections, and renovations
• Preparation of investigations, decision-making documents, and strategic plans

As a water and wastewater engineer with us, you will be part of the pipeline unit in the water and wastewater organization, consisting of employees with extensive experience in municipal water and wastewater supply. We plan and investigate the pipeline networks in Mariestad. We are responsible for the municipality's water and wastewater operations with associated investment budgets and order what we want to carry out to Mariestad's operation and service company. We have close cooperation with colleagues in adjacent technical areas and administrations, and your workplace will be based in the city hall in Mariestad.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position of water and wastewater engineer, you should have:

• Engineering or master's degree with a focus on water, environment, community building, or equivalent relevant technical education that the employer finds relevant
• Documented knowledge and/or work experience in the water and wastewater field
• Experience working with water and wastewater networks, such as operation, renewal, planning, or investigation, VA-banken or similar systems
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driver's license (B)

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• Water and wastewater investigations
• Modeling
• Capacity calculations
• Water and wastewater strategy

As a person, you are driven, energetic, and have a great interest in your technical field. You enjoy working towards set goals and deadlines and can work both independently and in group settings. Since our contact points are based on close dialogue and collaboration both internally and externally, you should have a good ability to create and maintain good relationships, which is why we place great importance on your personal qualities. Since much of our documentation is done in Swedish, it is a requirement that you are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
