The Municipal Executive Office plays a central role in the municipality and works to provide professional support and service to elected representatives and to the municipality's operations within both administrations and companies.
The Procurement Unit is part of the Economy and Procurement Office and consists of six employees with a strategic responsibility to lead and streamline the municipality's procurement processes. Our focus is on community benefit and creating value for the municipality's citizens.
The Procurement Unit has been collaborating for four years with Hofors and Ockelbo municipalities and their companies to carry out joint procurements. Together, we create stability, reduce vulnerability, and improve the quality of procurement and contract management.
Your workplace is centrally located in Sandviken's city hall with very good commuting opportunities from both Gävle and Dalarna, and here you will belong to a group with good cohesion and great commitment.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for someone who wants to make an impact and difference in our municipality and work with a diverse range of procurement areas. We need to strengthen the Procurement Unit with a buyer. The position is a 6-month temporary position with the possibility of extension.
You will mainly be responsible for procurements according to LOU and drive the process independently from start to finish, in close collaboration with the operations. Other tasks related to the buyer role will also be included in your assignment. The buyer's assignment also includes developing and ensuring a legally secure, efficient, and sustainable procurement procedure in the municipality.
You will be involved in the development of the procurement work in the municipality and contribute to fulfilling the municipality's goals, ensuring that financial resources are used efficiently, and that the municipality is a business-oriented and attractive contracting party.
You will have many internal and external contacts and support managers and employees in procurement matters. You actively contribute to improving work methods and keep yourself updated on legislation and the external environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant education from a university, college, or vocational school primarily in procurement or work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent and/or necessary for the position.
- Knowledge of LOU.
- Experience with the Office suite.
- You can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Since the role involves many internal and external contacts, we are looking for someone who is confident, service-oriented, and pedagogical. You are professional in your approach and can easily explain complex issues in an understandable way. You express yourself clearly and carefully in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You are also flexible and have the ability to quickly adapt when circumstances change.
Meritorious:
- Experience of qualified procurement work in public operations, especially if the experience is from municipal operations.
- Experience with Kommers as a procurement tool (which we use).
