Allergist for the Department of Lung Diseases & Allergy

The area of operation (VO) Internal Medicine is Sweden's largest internal medicine clinic with approximately 500 employees, 6 wards, a medical outpatient clinic, an endoscopic center, and a day care unit.

The operation is divided into 6 sections, of which the lung and allergy section is one. We are now looking for you, an Allergist (LUS), who wants to help develop our clinic for asthma and allergy!

Job Description

You will be welcomed by two specialists and three resident doctors, who, together with other staff, work to strengthen and develop our allergy clinic in preparation for future challenges and tasks. At the allergy clinic, we manage, investigate, and treat patients with airborne allergies, severe asthma, as well as anaphylaxis, urticaria, and angioedema. We perform food and drug provocations and conduct allergen immunotherapy. We have a dietitian at the allergy clinic for our patients with food allergies.

We provide high-quality education for medical students and are ranked as one of Sweden's best training places in the medical internship. The position includes supervision of medical students as well as supervision of resident and intern doctors.

VO Internal Medicine also has a prominent position within patient-centered research. Our local FoUU council has a close collaboration with Karolinska Institutet Södersjukhuset, where there is expertise in epidemiology and translational research to ensure high-quality clinical research.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills with both colleagues and other staff categories. Furthermore, you are flexible and show great commitment to your work. You make correct assessments and priorities and demonstrate judgment in statements, actions, and decisions. You share our core value "For the patient – with the patient" which should be included in every decision and guide daily work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Competence Requirements

Licensed physician with specialist competence in allergy.

Meritorious

  • Specialist competence in internal medicine and/or lung diseases
  • Documented research work and previous experience in development and process work
