About the Position

Our summer and seasonal workers are important to us, and as a cemetery worker, you play a significant role in caring for and maintaining the cemetery's outdoor environment.

With varied tasks such as gardening, maintenance, and meeting visitors, you will have a meaningful and diverse workday in a harmonious outdoor setting.

The Cemetery Administration is responsible for burial services and the operation of the five cemeteries in Umeå and Tavelsjö, and our mission is to be there for everyone regardless of religion and belief. We have 27 year-round employees and hire about 80 people during the summer season.

Responsibilities

• Green area maintenance (mowing, trimming, hedge cutting, leaf management, etc.)
• Maintenance of gravel areas (weeding, edging, raking, etc.)
• Tomb maintenance (planting, weeding, watering, etc.)

The Candidate We Are Looking For

• Is at least 18 years old
• Is meticulous, structured, and responsible
• Has good social skills and can work both in a team and independently
• Can handle physical outdoor work regardless of the weather
• Has basic IT skills
• Has good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in park work or burial services
• Education in green area maintenance
• Experience with machinery used in green area maintenance
• Driver's license (B)

Employment Conditions

The periods we offer are:

• April 27 – October 31
• April 27 – September 30
• June 8 – August 21

The start dates will be April 27 and June 8, but if the above-mentioned end dates do not suit, they can be adjusted by agreement. Please indicate in your application which end date you would prefer.
