JOB DESCRIPTION

Your mission is strategic, operational, and community-bearing

As a social manager, you are the head of the social administration and part of the municipality's management team. You report to the municipal manager and have a close and trusting collaboration with the political leadership and union representatives.

You are responsible for translating political decisions into sustainable operations, ensuring good financial management, and driving development in a socially important organization.

Your tasks include:

• Leading and developing all areas of the social administration: elderly care, LSS, and individual and family care
• Having overall responsibility for budget and results, operations, personnel, and working environment
• Driving strategic planning and long-term operational development
• Being a qualified support to the political leadership through analysis, preparation, and decision-making basis
• Developing collaboration with other administrations, the region, and external actors
• Ensuring implementation and follow-up of political decisions

The social administration has a budget of approximately 340 million SEK and about 400 employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced leader with high integrity, stability, and strategic sharpness. You are financially responsible and apply working methods based on resource optimization and good cost control. You have the ability to combine long-term development work with operational decisiveness and thoughtful implementation.

You create engagement through participation, trust, respect, care, and security. Your communication is straightforward, professional, and relationship-building, and you are used to representing the organization in complex decision-making environments.

We believe you have:

• Academic degree in a field deemed relevant by the employer
• Solid managerial experience from social services, care, or other welfare areas
• Documented experience working closely with political leadership and committees
• Good knowledge of social law and public administration
• Ability to drive change with both clarity and responsiveness
• Experience leading through other managers while developing leadership within the organization
