Your tasks

The work as a chef involves all tasks that occur in a kitchen. You will prepare and serve breakfast, snacks, and lunch, as well as special diets in accordance with applicable agreements. Your responsibilities also include ensuring that the right product is packed on time and delivered to the right customer. You will also meet our guests during serving hours and digitally order food and other products from our contracted suppliers. You will work with self-control and post-work tasks such as cleaning and dishwashing.

The work as a resource chef means that you will occasionally replace someone else in a kitchen within a restaurant area, based on needs. The work as a chef is scheduled during the day. Most kitchens are open during the day from Monday to Friday, one of our kitchens is open during the day every day of the week all year round.

Your workplace

Food & Restaurant is responsible for cooking for Linköping's primary and secondary schools. In our 70 kitchens, 250 employees prepare about 26,000 meals a day that are served in our own school restaurant or delivered to preschools and elderly care. Our mission is to offer our customers an affordable meal that is well-prepared and nutritious. We are committed to ensuring that our operations are characterized by good quality and professionalism. We base our goals and quality standards on preparing food according to the season and as much as possible from scratch and close to the guest to promote health and consider the environment and climate.

Your workplace will be in one of our schools or preschools within the municipality.

You who are applying

We are looking for someone who has a high school education in restaurant and food, large-scale training, or other education that the employer assesses to be equivalent. Alternatively, equivalent work experience assessed by the employer. It is an advantage if you have several years of work experience in cooking.

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have knowledge regarding special diets and it is advantageous if you have several years of work experience in this area. It is also advantageous if you have experience working with school meals and digitally ordering goods. The work requires good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing to ensure the quality of the food, the health of the guests, and your own safety.

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable in their professional role and possesses good self-awareness. You have the ability to distinguish between the personal and the professional and adapt your approach according to the situation. Since the work involves deadlines, we expect you to remain calm, stable, and controlled even in pressured and stressful situations. Furthermore, you are engaged and invest time and energy in your work. As a person, you are attentive and communicate well with others. You enjoy collaborating and have the ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
