We are looking for

We are looking for you who are engaged, ambitious, responsible, enjoy challenges, and want to help develop healthcare in our region.

We offer you

We offer 14 AT blocks starting on 2026-08-17 or 2026-11-16. The AT blocks cover 21 months and are divided into six months of surgery (including anesthesia and orthopedics), six months of medicine (including geriatrics), three months of psychiatry, and finally six months of general medicine. Your AT begins with a one-week introduction, and you have four elective weeks during your AT.

• 2-5 days of external courses
• 8 days of regional common training
• 1 week of general introduction
• 1 hour of teaching per week
• Personal supervisor at each clinic
• Paid leave, conference fee, travel, and accommodation for the AT conference
• Research interest is welcome. If interested, the region can offer up to three research AT positions per year. Your AT service will then be extended by 6 months. You need to be accepted as a doctoral student at the time of the AT application. The project should preferably be anchored to the region.

Your qualifications

You who are applying have a medical degree by the planned start of the AT block and good knowledge of Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale.

Our goal is to have a competent group with varying characteristics, which we believe benefits both the AT doctors and our hospital. Our selection criteria are a combination of merits, interviews, and references. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Applicants with foreign degrees must, in addition to the medical degree certificate, also attach the National Board of Health and Welfare's decision on permission to do AT in Sweden.
