Traffic and Street Unit

The Park and Traffic Department manages the outdoor environment owned by Region Gotland to offer the public a pleasant park, nature, and urban environment.

The responsibilities of the traffic and street unit also include waste management, street sweeping, snow removal, and ice control, as well as the operation and maintenance of streets and roads. The unit is responsible for the management of the administration's machines, vehicles, and vehicle workshop tasks.

Your Responsibilities

Do you want to make a real difference and create added value for everyone who spends time in our public environment?

We are now looking for an early riser who wants to be part of our sanitation team. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the cleanliness of our streets and squares. Your tasks include, for example, waste management, emptying trash bins, litter picking, weeding, and being generally helpful to our citizens and visitors to make Gotland and Visby an attractive place. The work is performed using various vehicles such as ATVs, cars, and bicycles.

The employment is temporary and will last from March to August. Working hours are between 05:00 and 14:00, and during the summer, we staff all days of the week according to a rotating schedule.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is at least 18 years old, has a B driver's license, and training in work on roads (APV). The job has physical demands and requires you to enjoy being outdoors.

It is an advantage if you have experience with similar tasks, and we would like you to be an early riser, know your way around Visby, and have previous experience working in a team. It is also advantageous if you have experience in operating machinery and if you have trimmer training.

We are looking for someone who is cheerful and positive, good at collaborating, and can be self-sufficient in your role. You need to be service-oriented and have the ability to always keep our citizens and visitors in focus. For us, good service is important, so for this position, we highly value personality, motivation, and drive.
