We are looking for reinforcement for the nursing group

The Neurosurgical Clinic at the University Hospital in Linköping is one of the operations within the Sense Center in Region Östergötland. Our catchment area is the Southeast Healthcare Region, which includes Östergötland, Kalmar, and Jönköping counties with approximately one million inhabitants. The operation is conducted as inpatient and outpatient care. The clinic has about 200 employees. The neurosurgery department consists of a care unit including postop, an intermediate care unit; NIMA, an intensive care unit; NIVA, and the neurosurgical outpatient clinic. We perform emergency and elective surgery for patients with tumors, conditions in the cervical spine, bleeding, vascular malformations, trauma, hydrocephalus, various movement disorders, epilepsy, and other diseases of the central nervous system. In the department, we also care for patients from maxillofacial surgery. The neurosurgical operation is a highly qualified care with advanced surgical treatments.

At the neurosurgical clinic, we create security for you as a new nurse with support functions in the form of a clinical nurse specialist and you will be assigned a mentor. You will work in a department where there are always colleagues who have more experience in neurosurgical care and who can guide you. Initiative and innovative thinking are welcomed. We welcome both newly graduated nurses and those with experience. We will adapt the introduction depending on your background and experience. Everything to help you settle into your tasks and get the best possible start with us in neurosurgery. We have a well-developed introduction program and a tailored onboarding period of about 4 weeks based on your conditions and experiences.

Job Description

We are looking for you who want to work in a wonderful and cohesive workgroup where you will be well taken care of as a new colleague. You will work in a development-focused and eventful environment and become part of a team where collaboration and engagement are highly valued. You will have the opportunity to work and learn a broad spectrum within healthcare as the department has a varied patient group in terms of age, diagnoses, and background.

As a nurse, you will have the nursing responsibility for patients both pre- and postoperatively and work in a team with a nursing assistant. We have our own postoperative unit where newly operated patients come directly from surgery. The department also includes NIMA, the intermediate care unit. After a period of work on the care unit, an individual assessment will be made regarding when rotation can begin to the neurosurgery's postop and NIMA. There you will have the opportunity for further professional development by working with continuous high-tech monitoring of newly operated patients.

Work Group

You will work closely with other professions; doctors, nursing assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. In the department, there are experienced clinical nurse specialists (SPINK) who provide support in more complex patient cases.

About You

Whether you are newly graduated or experienced, we see that you are meticulous, responsible, and have the patient's best interest in focus. You enjoy collaborating, are genuine in your approach, and contribute to a positive atmosphere in the team. We value curiosity and the desire to learn. We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice in Swedish healthcare. Experience in previous postoperative care is an advantage. We also welcome multilingual candidates. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

You are described by former colleagues as engaged and attentive. Furthermore, you are proactive and your work style is characterized by getting things done. You should appreciate variation and be flexible. You work independently with a strong sense of responsibility while enjoying being part of a multidisciplinary team, where all professional categories learn from each other. You have an interest in development as the department works with continuous improvement efforts. You should have a genuine interest in helping people.
