About Piteå Parish

Piteå Parish stretches from forest landscapes to vast archipelago. A parish with nearly 20,000 members and over 55 employees. The parish includes five churches, two of which are cooperative churches with EFS, five chapels, and eight cemeteries, five of which are active. About the Burial Operations

Piteå Parish is the principal for the burial operations in the parish area. This means that we are responsible for providing and maintaining cemeteries - regardless of faith or worldview. The assignment is both practical and regulatory, with demands for legal security, documentation, and accessibility.

The burial operations are a community-critical assignment where quality, respect, and responsibility are at the center. We strive for a holistic view - from administration to burial and maintenance - and continuously develop our working methods to meet changing traditions and increased demands.

Piteå Parish is looking for several cemetery workers for the 2026 season

The work involves lawn mowing, trimming, planting, and general gardening at our cemeteries in Piteå, Öjebyn, and Heden.

The tasks are performed outdoors in all weather conditions and can be physically demanding at times. At Heden's cemetery, some construction work may also occur. Serving at funerals in the chapels may be relevant for those interested.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid B driver's license. You need to be service-oriented and speak good Swedish as the job involves many meetings with mourners at the cemetery. The work is performed in teams, so you also need to be cooperative. Personal suitability is highly valued.

We can offer both shorter and longer seasonal employment. The first long season will apply a probationary period.

Short Season

The positions are full-time, 40 hours per week for 8 weeks during the period 8/6-31/7 or 15/6-7/8. Indicate that you are applying for a short season and the dates you can work.

Long Season

The positions are full-time, 40 hours per week during the period 4/5-18/10. Experience with machinery, repairs, construction, gardening, landscaping, etc., is an advantage. Indicate that you are applying for a long season.
