The core mission of the School Administration is education within primary school, adapted primary school, and after-school activities. The organization is also responsible for food, cleaning, and maintenance services. In Borås City, there are 39 municipal primary schools. We have 48 school units, of which four are adapted primary schools with a total of 12,000 students and 2,800 employees. In this role, you will belong to the IT and Digitalization Unit of the School Administration, which includes IT coordination for administrative systems as well as collaboration with business developers in IT and ICT developers.

As a system manager, you will work both strategically and operationally with various system-related issues. You will work closely with the administration's managers and employees who are out in the operations, and it is expected that you are attentive and consultative regarding the needs that exist. You are the link between the administration and IT partners and the city's central administration. The role also includes leading and coordinating both smaller and larger groups in training and support situations, such as during training sessions, workshops, and information initiatives related to our systems. You will be involved and represent the School Administration in relevant procurements, contract issues, risk analyses, etc. In this work, you will also participate in the city's network for system issues. A large part of your work will be to be the administration's object specialist and be responsible for the administrative systems for student registers, scheduling systems, and after-school care.

As a system manager, you will drive both larger and smaller projects within the administration but also participate in cross-administrative development projects. You will project manage and drive digital changes, provide support and service, and train key personnel in the administration's operations regarding our operational systems. The position also involves ongoing operations, support, and assistance to the operations.

The applicant should have a post-secondary education, preferably in data and systems science or informatics, or several years of relevant work experience that we assess as relevant for the position. You should have experience working with innovation, monitoring, and management of operations at a strategic level in a larger organization. Work experience from municipal or other authorities is desirable. You are communicative and thrive in situations where you need to conduct training and other presentations.

We prefer that you have experience in project management, and it is an advantage if you have gained an understanding of the ordering role in public operations through experience.

You have an easy time understanding and adopting new digital solutions, see the opportunities they offer, and have the pedagogical ability to convey that knowledge to others. Communication in various ways is a large part of the job, which means you need to be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing. As a person, you are professional, responsible, structured, reliable, and enjoy working both independently and in teams with others. You need to have the ability to handle complex situations and solve problems together with others. Likewise, you need to skillfully analyze situations from which you can prioritize, delineate, and make decisions within the framework of your assignment.
