Gardener Wanted at the Royal Djurgården Administration
The Royal Djurgården Administration's main task is to manage the King's private rights to Djurgården. Royal Djurgården is one of Stockholm's green lungs, a National City Park, and an important part of the green cultural heritage. The task includes protecting the historical cultural landscape, caring for the existing nature, and adapting the area to people's desires for a stimulating leisure and recreation environment. You will belong to the park and street department responsible for the operation and maintenance of parks, roads, and lighting in northern and southern Djurgården and the Fjäderholmarna.
We are now looking for gardeners for the 2025 season. The seasonal period extends from April to November, but it is of course possible to work for a shorter period.
Job Responsibilities:
As a gardener, you contribute to creating a beautiful and pleasant outdoor environment. You perform all tasks related to green space maintenance and care. Common tasks include planting, weeding, hedge trimming, clearing brush, watering, caring for plantings, and cleaning/litter picking.
Qualifications:
- Gardening education or documented experience in similar tasks.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Great interest in the green outdoor environment and sustainability issues related to the work.
- Clearing/motor saw certificate RA/AB is an advantage.
- Experience with machinery is an advantage.
- Driver's license B is an advantage.
Personal Qualities:
As a person, you have a high level of service and responsibility. You are flexible, willing to take initiative, and have good teamwork skills. It is also important that you are in good physical shape as the work can be physically demanding.
Other Employment Information:
- The position is full-time.
- The duration of employment will be determined by agreement.
- Working hours are during the day according to a schedule.
- Salary according to the applicable agreement.
- A mandatory introductory session will be conducted at the start of employment.
- Any leave requests during the season must be presented at the time of application. Vacation is granted restrictively.
- The trade unions are represented by Saco-S, Seko, and OFR/S.
