Job Advertisement: Temporary Position in Library Development

The work concerns the focus areas outlined in Region Kalmar län's regional library plan, which deals with language and reading promotion, digital participation, accessibility, and collaboration. Your job will involve promoting cooperation, organizational development, and equitable quality regarding the municipal public libraries operating in the region. Environmental monitoring is part of the job for dissemination to public library staff and colleagues, as well as organizing competency-enhancing initiatives. We now see a need to strengthen work around the target group of children and young people. There is also a need to work on the unit's communication channels, such as newsletters.

The position is a temporary one as one of our employees is on leave for studies until March 31, 2027, but with the possibility of extension.

About You

You have a degree from a relevant higher education program and good knowledge of public library operations as well as good digital competence. You are used to starting and driving projects and processes together with others and are comfortable presenting to groups. You are quality-conscious, results-oriented, and enjoy finding solutions to problems. It is also important that you enjoy collaborating and are open to others' ideas to achieve good results.

Your Future Workplace

You will be part of a base unit with three colleagues and a manager. The base unit is part of the regional development administration with the opportunity to collaborate and work in a stimulating environment with the resident in focus. Library development is undergoing a renewal process where you will play an important role. Together with colleagues and the manager, you will contribute your experiences to achieve our mission. This means great opportunities to work together as a team, where we strengthen each other and our results. We have an open office landscape and are located in the regional house in central Kalmar. The position involves travel both within the region and to other parts of the country.

In the education administration area, there are five base units, library development, and the four folk high schools: Gamleby Folk High School, Kalmar Folk High School, Vimmerby Folk High School, and Öland Folk High School. The folk high schools offer a wide range of educational programs that contribute to raising the educational level in the region. Library development initiates, leads, and coordinates the region's joint development work within the library area. We are part of the regional development administration that works together on growth and development issues in Kalmar län.
