"I thought you were pretend, but now I know you exist for real." – a visiting child to Madicken in Astrid Lindgren's World

In Astrid Lindgren's World, visitors step right into the world of fairy tales and become part of it. Here, children and their families can meet, talk, and play with characters from Astrid Lindgren's books. During the peak season, our visitors can see the stories from the well-known books performed in over 30 different shows every day. Each year, the park welcomes half a million visitors, making us Sweden's largest outdoor theater and a fairy tale world that creates memories for life. Our goal is to bring Astrid Lindgren's authorship to life and to work in her spirit based on the fundamental value that all people have the same worth and are equally important. With us, everyone has a significant role in creating a genuine and authentic experience of Astrid Lindgren's World.

Do you want to be part of our work?

As a stage technician in Astrid Lindgren's World, you will perform stage technical and lighter sound technical tasks and maintain our performance venues. We have eight different performance venues where shows take place throughout the day. You will be part of the stage and sound department team.

Astrid Lindgren's World is open every day of the week, in all weather, from May to August. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is solution-oriented rather than problem-focused, takes responsibility for their tasks, and enjoys a daily routine where conditions can change quickly.

The work is sometimes physical, so it is important that you enjoy an active job.

We work closely together and help each other – therefore, we are looking for someone who is both social and enjoys collaborating.

We welcome everyone regardless of ethnicity, gender identity, and cultural background. If you meet the formal requirements, you are welcome to apply to us!

You can find the application form on our website www.astridlindgrensvarld.se. We do not accept applications by post or email.

Employment period: The periods vary depending on which performances you are working with, as we have different rehearsal periods. The longest period extends from mid-March, and all periods end on August 16.

We are also open on weekends in weeks 34 - 38 and three weeks at the end of October.

Salary: According to the agreement between Scen & Film and Swedish Stage Arts.

Application deadline: October 6, 2025. Interviews will take place in Astrid Lindgren's World, Vimmerby, week 44, 2025.

Contact person: Johanna Rotebäck, Producer. [email protected]
