JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At Oskarshamn libraries, we work every day for an open, inclusive, and knowledge-bearing society. The library is a democratic foundational institution and a central part of the effort to make Oskarshamn an attractive and growing municipality.

We are now looking for someone who wants to help strengthen our ability to succeed in this fantastic mission.

The position includes work at:

• City Library
• Branches
• Responsibility for multilingualism and everything that entails

The work includes standard library tasks such as:

• Staffing at the information and lending desk
• Program and reading promotion work
• Media management
• Meetings with children, youth, and adults
• Evening and weekend shifts are included.

The work also requires good physical condition, as heavy lifting and active work occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

You are confident in your professional practice and take responsibility for driving your work forward with your own judgment and initiative, even when it requires courage. You can meet children and youth with both structure and playfulness, and you thrive in a role where relationships are central.

A clear commitment to popular education, preferably with a particular interest in multilingualism and a genuine interest in meeting people in various life situations.

For you, the library is a place where knowledge, safety, and curiosity can take space.

You work just as well independently as in close collaboration with colleagues and partners, and you actively contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive work environment. You are simply so confident in your professional role that you sometimes dare to be a little silly when it helps the meeting and learning.
