About the role

As a locomotive technician in Hagalund, you will be an important part of our team responsible for keeping our locomotives in top condition. The work is varied and requires both technical knowledge and curiosity. Here you will work with everything from mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance to repairing components and systems.

You will have a broad and varied role where you will encounter both planned and urgent tasks – perfect for you who enjoy a fast pace, problem-solving, and ensuring that things work as they should.

Examples of tasks

• Troubleshooting and repairing locomotives and wagon systems
• Maintenance and replacement of components, such as blocks and pads
• Inspection and testing of mechanical and electrical systems
• Documentation of completed work
• Collaboration with colleagues in operations and planning

Your background

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology and mechanics. You do not need to have extensive experience, but you should have the right skills and a desire to develop within locomotive maintenance.

We would like you to have:

• Experience in mechanical work, preferably within vehicles, machinery, or industry
• Basic knowledge of electricity (YH education in electricity is an advantage)
• Ability to understand technical systems and troubleshoot in a structured way
• Careful and safety-conscious working methods

Practical information

• Location: Hagalund
• Employment type: Full-time, probationary employment for 6 months with the possibility of permanent employment
• Start: Immediately
• Working hours: Three shifts

Recruitment process

As part of our recruitment process, we conduct the Master tests OPTO and CORE to obtain a fair and objective assessment of your skills.

We also perform a background check before employment is offered, as well as a health examination, since the position is security classified.
