Emergency and Security Coordinator for Water and Sewage Operations

Söderhamn Nära AB, with its subsidiary Söderhamn Elnät AB, is a municipal infrastructure company. We currently have about 125 employees and work in areas including combined heat and power, waste management, electricity networks, municipal networks, IT operations, as well as water and sewage. The operations are run in a joint organization to create coordination advantages and business benefits for owners, customers, and residents.

We are looking for an Emergency and Security Coordinator for our water and sewage operations who wants to work with a meaningful and socially important mission.

About the Water Operations Area

The water operations area of Söderhamn Nära is responsible for the municipal water and sewage operations. This includes the preparation and distribution of drinking water as well as the diversion and treatment of wastewater in the municipality of Söderhamn. We have a total of 22 employees within the operations.

Responsibilities

You will work with emergency preparedness, security, and continuity planning within the water and sewage operations. Coordination, development, and follow-up of the work will take place in close collaboration with colleagues, security functions, and external actors, at both strategic and operational levels. You will belong to the water department and report directly to the Operations Manager.

The role is central to strengthening the organization’s ability to maintain essential services during disruptions, extraordinary events, and heightened preparedness. Your tasks will include coordinating work on risk and vulnerability analyses as well as emergency and continuity planning, developing and further refining governing documents and plans, and ensuring that agreed-upon ambition levels are actually implemented in practice.

You will plan, conduct, and follow up on training and exercises, as well as monitor applicable legislation and guidelines, and support the operations in applying these.

The assignment may evolve over time based on the needs of the organization and your competencies.

Qualifications

You are self-driven and work in a structured manner with a good ability to plan and drive your work, both strategically and operationally. You take responsibility, are results-oriented, and contribute to good collaboration.

You have post-secondary education in areas such as emergency preparedness, risk and security work, or civil protection, or equivalent competencies acquired through work experience.

Knowledge of crisis preparedness, civil defense, as well as information security and/or security protection is an advantage. Experience in developing governing documents, routines, and plans is a requirement. Experience in project management is meritorious.

You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have a B driver's license. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Conditions

The position is a permanent full-time employment with placement in Söderhamn. Start date by agreement.

A security clearance with a background check may be conducted prior to employment.
