About the Position
The Swedish Armed Forces' Technical and Maintenance Office Logistics (TVK Log) is seeking a driven and development-oriented manager for the material department. The department encompasses material areas such as personal equipment, medical equipment, general maintenance equipment, fuel equipment, field catering equipment, and climbing equipment. The mission involves leading and further developing a department responsible for several of the Armed Forces' central material areas, aiming to create high material and technical availability for our combat units.
The role includes overall responsibility for coordinating, organizing, and following up on the department's work, ensuring relevant agreements, as well as establishing and managing material maintenance and sustainment plans to enable availability within the department's material areas. The material department has grown rapidly in a short time, and the development work requires clear working methods, methodology, and effective use of resources. As a manager, you play a key role in shaping a stable and long-term structure for the operation – at a time when the Armed Forces are undergoing their largest growth in decades.
About the Unit
TVK Log is a central player in the Armed Forces' logistics management. We are responsible for ensuring that supplies and materials are available and meet the needs of combat units – in peace, crisis, and war. This also means that we create the conditions required for the Armed Forces' sustainability in areas such as fuel, food, and ammunition.
The unit consists of about 120 employees with broad expertise in technology, logistics, and management. TVK Log mainly consists of civilian personnel with an even distribution between women and men. The management is located in Boden, but we are represented in several locations across the country. Our work is based on trust, collaboration, and a clear mission – to enable available combat units through the right material at the right time.
Main Responsibilities
As the head of the material department, you lead the department's sections and are responsible for coordinating, developing, and following up on operations. You are part of the TVK Log management team and are expected to contribute to a holistic view, collaboration, and long-term development of the unit.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Leading, coordinating, and developing the material department's operations
- Ensuring technical and material availability in accordance with the needs of combat units
- Exercising follow-up, management, and collaboration within the department's areas of responsibility
- Further developing working methods, methods, and structures for the department
- Following up and analyzing the current situation, risks, and deviations within the material areas
- Supporting section heads in working effectively and in coordination
- Collaborating with other departments, technical managers, other units, and external actors

- Driving license B.
Personal Qualities
You are structured, driven, and enjoy creating order in complex environments. You have a strong desire to take responsibility and the courage to make decisions even under uncertain conditions. As a leader, you are attentive and have the ability to create engagement and direction through others. You are communicative and pedagogical and skilled at expressing yourself in both speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
You have good analytical skills and a business-driven focus. You see connections, prioritize the whole over the details, and are used to working in change. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
