Our Operations

The Acute and Consultation Psychiatry Section consists of the adult psychiatry emergency department that operates around the clock, a psychiatric acute care ward (PAVA) with 12 beds, and the PAM unit. Patients come to the emergency department around the clock via self-referral/visits but also with police, ambulance, correctional services, and from other healthcare institutions. As a nurse in the emergency department, you are responsible for leadership, coordination, and monitoring patient flow, performing an initial acute assessment and triage of patients.

Patients who need a shorter or longer stay are admitted to the psychiatric acute care ward. The admission time at PAVA is approximately 1 - 3 days, after which patients either go home or continue care in another ward in the building. Here we work in teams, and you will be responsible for a maximum of 6 patients together with caregivers and collaborate with the other team in a shared overall responsibility for the patients.

Your Mission

As a nurse, you always work with the patient in focus. You lead the nursing work in the team, allocate resources, and prioritize actions during the shift. You assess the patient's acute psychiatric and somatic conditions, bringing a nursing perspective to the interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities also include quality development of psychiatric nursing.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a new colleague who is a licensed nurse and has a bachelor's degree in nursing. Interested in acute psychiatric nursing, where you will work daily to assess and care for patients seeking urgent help. You are interested in working in an organization with a broad scope, where you will personally develop in your role as a nurse.
