At Thoraxcentrum, about 250 employees work in care departments, outpatient operations, surgical operations, intensive care unit (THIVA), and radiology department. The clinic has an instructional nurse responsible for continuing education and skills development for all personnel categories.

About the Job

At THIVA, round-the-clock care is provided, and we care for patients who have undergone acute and planned heart or lung surgical operations. We also care for patients who need optimization before heart surgery or require circulatory support with, for example, an aortic balloon pump and ECMO. Postoperative monitoring after minor surgeries such as wire extirpations or vacc-fungal treatments also occurs regularly. The great variety in intensive care work with our patients makes THIVA a stimulating and developing workplace that demands high flexibility and teamwork skills.

As a nursing assistant at THIVA, you primarily work in a team with intensive care nurses and doctors, but other independent tasks also occur. The work schedule will initially be weekdays Monday-Friday day/evening. After a period of employment, rotation shifts including night work and weekend work will be relevant. With us, you will receive an individually tailored introduction with experienced colleagues as support. Part of the introduction is done in the general intensive care unit as we have a close collaboration with ICU.

You will also have regular contact with the instructional nurse during your introduction. If desired, you can also be offered the opportunity for rotation shifts, for example, in another unit within Thoraxcentrum, as part of your individual skills development.

About You

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant with experience in inpatient care and would prefer that you are specialized in intensive care or have experience working in intensive care. Experience in cardiac care or intermediate care is an advantage. In addition to your formal qualifications, you are driven by a genuine commitment to patient care and have an interest in intensive care where high-tech medical equipment is part of daily nursing work. You share our view that qualities such as responsiveness and good teamwork skills are of utmost importance in a workplace, not least for the teamwork around the patient to function. In addition to the patient-centered work, you see participation and responsibility in the development of your workplace as motivating.
