Your Responsibilities

As a school librarian, you will work 75% distributed across different educational stages.

You will meet students throughout the school and collaborate with the school's dedicated educators to create the best possible conditions for students' learning. At Söndrum School, there are two school libraries, one for lower and middle school and one for upper school.

You will be part of the administration's school librarian network. The network meets regularly and is led by the administration's school library developer. The purpose is to create a platform for school library development through systematic quality work, professional development, collegial learning, dialogue, as well as information and inspiration.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree as a school librarian and several years of experience working in school libraries. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children and youth from different cultures and language groups.

If you do not have a degree as a librarian, it may also be possible to apply and potentially be employed as a library educator where the requirements are: Higher education in the field, e.g., literature studies, certified teacher, journalist, etc.

Söndrum School consists of lower, middle, and upper school as well as after-school care. The school is located in the western part of Halmstad, close to the sea and nature, with about 750 students. The school consists of several different buildings which create a sense of closeness and belonging. Here, students thrive and have a conducive study environment, which is reflected in our results. The school's outdoor environment allows for many different activities, both for learning and recreation.

If you are offered employment within the Child and Youth Administration, you are required to present a clean extract from the Police Criminal Records for work in schools/preschools. The extract is free of charge and takes about 2-3 weeks for the police to process. Therefore, please order in good time!
