Falkenberg High School is a municipal high school with 13 national programs, an introductory program, and three programs within the adapted high school. Approximately 1400 students attend the school.

Adult Education Falkenberg and Campus Falkenberg conduct a significant amount of education on their own and have up to 1000 students studying in various capacities and at different levels. The total staff consists of about 200 people.

The educational programs are mostly gathered in nearby newly built or renovated facilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At Falkenberg High School and Adult Education Falkenberg, the school library collaborates with the municipal public library, which means that the school library has access to suitable facilities and an extensive collection. We are now looking for a school librarian who, in close collaboration with the school's other staff, wants to further develop the opportunities that the school library provides. As a school librarian with us, you play a key role in strengthening students' reading, information literacy, and digital skills, as well as contributing to higher goal achievement.

Responsibilities:

• Drive and develop the school library as a central part of the teaching
• Inspire reading through book talks, thematic reading, and other reading-promoting activities.
• Support students and teachers in information retrieval, source criticism/reliability, and digital competence.
• Work closely with the school's staff to integrate the library into teaching, for example in various projects and in students' graduation projects, and create an inclusive and accessible learning environment where all students are given equal opportunities to succeed.
• Responsible for all textbook management and other administrative tasks related to the library.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is passionate about inspiring students, including adult learners, to read and learn. You have a degree in library and information science or another relevant education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Additionally, you have good digital competence and can work with both analog and digital learning resources.

In your working style, you are pedagogically skilled and interested in collaborating with other educational staff. As a person, you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment where the assignment evolves over time. You are collaborative and enjoy working closely with students, teachers, and school management.

It is an advantage if you have pedagogical experience from high school or adult education and experience working based on the school's governing documents.
