Business Description

Sjöparksskolan is Gällivare Municipality's only municipal middle school in the locality and is located next to Sjöparken and Isborgen, the municipality's ice arena. The school has approximately 410 students and about 55 staff members. The school has recently been renovated to meet the requirements for a middle school and is modern in its design. The school focuses heavily on creating good learning environments, collegial learning, and developing sustainable structures to prepare students for the future. The school also has school nurses and school counselors on site. There are also special educators, social educators, and study and career counselors. Two key educators work to develop our digital competence, and the school has substitute teachers who cover short-term absences. Lead teachers work on subject development. The school is divided into three teams led by their respective team leaders. New and unqualified staff are mentored by experienced and qualified colleagues during their introduction and in their ongoing daily teaching work. The school provides opportunities for students with needs to work in smaller teaching groups. There is also a preparatory class for newly arrived students at the school.

Job Responsibilities

You will work with a small group of students who need extra support. You will teach several subjects. You will participate in the school's team. You may also become a mentor for students.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher in one of the core subjects. You should be responsible, clear, and driven, and have an easy time building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Engagement, solution focus, innovation, interest in and ability to collaborate are qualities that the school values. We also place great importance on personal suitability. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for a position in Gällivare Municipality.

A criminal record extract is required before employment.
