Our Operations

The specialized palliative care at Akademiska sjukhuset is conducted at the palliative center, which consists of the Specialized Palliative Care Unit (SPVA), the department for specialized home care (ASH), the palliative consulting team (PKT), and the palliative outpatient clinic. At the units of the Palliative Center, patients with various diagnoses and ages are cared for, including sometimes children in need of specialized palliative care in their own homes or in special accommodations.

The Palliative Center is currently at the start of an exciting development journey, with the ambition to strengthen both the operations and palliative care in general. We are now looking for driven employees who want to be part of the joint effort to strengthen, develop, and broaden palliative care within our region.

Your Mission

We work multidisciplinary and have close cooperation with doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. Nursing assistants and nurses work in teams where nursing assistants are responsible for basic care and nurses are responsible for specific care. Being a nursing assistant with us is an exciting job where you meet patients and relatives in many different situations. You become part of a skilled team that supports and helps each other while you will also work independently. Your Qualifications

You are a trained nursing assistant with a protected professional title and a few years of experience as a nursing assistant. It is advantageous if you have experience in palliative care. You need good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Your Competence

You always put the patient in focus, are responsible, and motivated in your work. You are a positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment.

You are structured and communicative. Furthermore, we see that you are stress-resistant and enjoy working in a team. We see that you have good collaboration skills, are independent, flexible, and work with quality awareness.

We Offer

Permanent employment of between 75–100%. Day/evening/night/weekend. Individual onboarding and mentorship upon request. Group supervision every month. A 6-month probationary period may be applied.

Due to the national legal requirements, you may receive the title care assistant in your employment contract.
