Region Västernorrland will appoint approximately 30 AT positions in the autumn of 2026 with a 18-month service period. We are recruiting AT doctors with a focus on the region's future competence supply, and as an AT doctor, you are important to us. Our ambition is for you to develop in your AT position and also want to continue being one of us at Region Västernorrland after completing your AT.

With us in Region Västernorrland, you can apply for AT in Sundsvall or Örnsköldsvik. We offer a developing AT that is well-prepared for specialist training. We have one of Sweden's highest AT salaries. If you live outside Västernorrland and need to relocate to do your AT with us, we offer relocation assistance of up to 20,000 SEK.

All AT positions are temporary employment according to law/agreement starting no earlier than 2026-08-24.

The AT position is based on clinical work under supervision, combined with formal education. The AT in Region Västernorrland consists of 18 months of service divided into surgical activities (4.5 months), medical activities (4.5 months), psychiatry (3 months), and general medicine (6 months). You also have the opportunity to extend your service by one month in a chosen placement.

The AT position begins with a joint introduction and training from 2026-08-24 to 2026-09-06 (weeks 35-36). In addition, the employment continues with clinical placement either in week 37 or week 50. There is also the possibility to do the joint introduction from 2027-02-22 to 2027-03-07 (weeks 8-9) and then start the clinical placement in week 10.

In your application, we want you to attach your CV and cover letter, stating why you are applying to our region and which location you primarily wish to do your AT in. If you have work certificates from healthcare-related work, we would like you to attach those as well.

For those who proceed in the process, we will request an extract from the police's criminal record, it is advantageous to have it ready at a possible interview.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for you who

• Have a medical degree and, if applicable, a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare to do AT in Sweden
• Have language skills in Swedish in speech and writing at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale

It is meritorious if you

• Have worked as a junior doctor but also in other healthcare-related professions
• Have work experience within Region Västernorrland
