Are you a licensed nurse interested in specialized surgery? We are looking for someone who wants to help further develop the hand and plastic surgery department into a workplace where we provide the best possible care to our patients based on a person-centered approach.

The hand and plastic surgery area is located in Malmö and conducts highly specialized surgery. We receive patients from southern Sweden, as well as national and international patients who need highly specialized surgical care.

The department has 14 inpatient beds distributed among plastic surgery, breast cancer surgery, hand surgery, and ear-nose-throat patients. We also have up to eight day surgery places on weekdays for hand surgery patients. The department cares for both elective and acute patients and has its own emergency intake around the clock for hand patients. The hand surgical flow also includes children. The department has been part of the Magnet project, and you will continue to have the opportunity to influence patient care and our working methods in an exciting and developing way.

With us, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors work in teams together with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, and dietitians. The workgroup is divided into two teams for inpatient patients and one team for day surgery. In the department, we have a clinical specialist nurse or nursing leader on duty daily who works with the staff as a resource in complex nursing situations. In addition, there is support from experienced nurses and nursing assistants who are available as competence support. The department also has a coordinator who manages the daily flow.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work days, evenings, and weekends with common tasks as well as highly specialized preoperative preparations and postoperative care. In the department, we handle medical equipment and work with laser Doppler controls and perform gel treatments. We work in teams, and our working method is characterized by a focus on a holistic view and patient-centered work. Nursing documentation is done in the Melior data system.

We have a high flow of patients and offer various specialties, which gives you the opportunity to further develop and gain new knowledge, but it also requires you to be solution-oriented and flexible.

In addition to the direct work with patients, all employees in the department are involved in the work of building, developing, and improving care in the unit. We offer a tailored introduction to ensure that you as a nurse feel secure in your professional practice. You will have the opportunity to perform digital training during working hours, and regular lectures are held. For newly graduated nurses, there is also a clinical foundation year under the auspices of Region Skåne.

You are engaged in your profession as a nurse and want to actively participate in the department's working methods and development moving forward. You share your experience and competence regardless of whether you are new in your role as a nurse or have more experience. In the hand and plastic department, everyone is important.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is a requirement. Experience from surgical operations and knowledge of wound dressing is an advantage.

You take responsibility and have the ability to make your own decisions, but at the same time value working in a team. In your contact with patients as well as colleagues, we expect you to be attentive and have a humble attitude.
