Are you ready to work in a community-supporting organization?

To ensure that all animals in Sweden have the conditions to live as good a life as possible, there are the District Veterinarians. With readiness around the clock, clinics across the country, and unique knowledge of animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a safer life. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of individuals, businesses, and authorities. We offer community-supporting services for emergency veterinary care, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place. The District Veterinarians are part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

Welcome to the District Veterinarians Falköping!

We are a dedicated team currently consisting of 7 veterinarians, one veterinary nurse, and one level 3 animal caretaker, and we are now looking for another veterinarian who wants to be part of our group. Falköping is one of Sweden's most cattle-dense municipalities, and we work a lot with cattle while also having a significant number of horses, some sheep, and a growing number of small animal patients. The tasks are varied, ranging from acutely ill animals to investigations, preventive herd work, and equine dentistry. There are great opportunities to specialize a bit more either towards livestock, horses, or small animals. During on-call time, we are prepared to offer both an initial assessment and emergency care for most animal species. We want to provide customers with close and personal service and be the first choice to turn to for everything related to animals.

With us, you will have experienced and engaged colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge. We work in modern premises that we moved to at the beginning of 2021. In our spacious clinic, we have access to digital X-ray, ultrasound, lab, operating room, and dental room with gas anesthesia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a veterinarian with us, you have the opportunity to work broadly and variably with all species, while there is room to develop within a specific species or area. We constantly strive for high quality in what we do, we are happy to learn from each other and share our knowledge and experience. Everyone is equally important, and everyone contributes to making our workplace pleasant and forward-looking. We have on-call duty around the clock, all year round, which means that night and weekend work is part of the job.

Sometimes you work alone, but you are never alone. We are a large organization, and support and advice from experienced colleagues are just a phone call away. During evening and night hours, there is always a manager on call (CiB) and also our on-call phone 9900 where we have staff who take calls from pet owners and coordinate contact with the current veterinarian. There is always a colleague to ask for advice, either a colleague on call (KiB) or at your own clinic or at a nearby clinic.

We continuously work on professional development, and we see your development in your work as our best investment.

The District Veterinarians have clear treatment guidelines that are a good support in our clinical work. We also have a thoroughly developed hygiene policy for healthcare hygiene that we think is important to follow.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a Swedish veterinary license or graduating this spring. With us, it is not only your competence and experience that matter - we place great importance on your personal qualities.

A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.

To succeed in the role, you need to be structured, have good teamwork skills, and be solution-focused. It is important that you can work independently and be self-driven while appreciating collaboration with colleagues.

Furthermore, you need to have good computer skills and administrative abilities since tasks like bookings and record-keeping are an important part of the job.

Selection and interviews are conducted continuously.
