The Gothenburg School Administration was established on July 1, 2018, and is one of the largest educational administrations in the country.

We are now looking for someone who wants to develop in a role as a special educator.

Ramsdalsskolan is a F-3 school with 200 students and about 30 staff members who collectively take responsibility for each other and the shared work and study environment. We strive to create an enjoyable learning environment where everyone feels safe, included, and where everyone experiences the opportunity for influence and development.

Responsibilities

As a special educator, you will conduct observations, carry out assessments, and pedagogical investigations. You will identify needs at the group and individual levels to collaboratively design and evaluate the adjustments and measures that the school, groups, and students require.

You will work systematically with documentation and analysis of teaching and student development closely with the educators. In consultation with the principal and vice principal, you will lead the development of pedagogical work with the goal of meeting the needs of all children and students in the organization.

You are a competent and qualified conversation partner and advisor in pedagogical matters for colleagues, guardians, and other stakeholders. You will guide and train staff and contribute to a good working climate characterized by joy and professionalism. You have a special responsibility as a mentor for new teachers and new staff members. You create good relationships with students and their guardians, colleagues, and other partners.

As a special educator, you are a key part of the student health team where you work alongside the school counselor, school nurse, school psychologist, special teacher, principal, and vice principal. We represent our respective professions while actively collaborating and working closely based on a shared understanding of the needs of the organization and from a promoting and preventive approach.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher or preschool teacher, and it is also a requirement for the position that you have a special education degree. You have experience in special education work and possess good knowledge of teaching students with special support needs. Experience working in multilingual environments is an advantage, and you see the multilingual environment as an asset in your role. Previous experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disorders is also an advantage, and we view experience teaching in our age groups as a benefit.

You have good leadership qualities and an approach characterized by attentiveness, clarity, and the courage to drive issues with the student’s best interests in focus. You lead meetings, training sessions, and create collaboration that moves the organization forward. The person we are looking for should have experience in both process-oriented group guidance, individual guidance, and counseling, and be a qualitative conversation partner for guardians, students, and all staff. Experience collaborating with external actors is an advantage.

You have excellent communication skills as the foundation of your role consists of close collaboration with and good relationships with students, teachers, and guardians. As a person, you are clear and can convey a message in an accessible way. It is crucial that in conversations with children and adults you are empathetic, trustworthy, and secure. You have experience successfully balancing a dialogue that both challenges and strengthens. You have the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. Your documentation is characterized by systematics and accuracy.

You are well acquainted with the school’s governing documents and have a good eye for accessible learning environments. You are genuinely interested in didactic and pedagogical issues and keep yourself updated on current research relevant to primary education. You have the ability to work systematically with your own learning and strive to develop new understandings of different learning processes. You have good digital competence.
