Security Technician

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. JOB DESCRIPTION

As a security technician, you will work with high-tech security systems in a high-security environment. You will be jointly responsible for the development, operation, maintenance, service, and troubleshooting of the technical installations of the operations. The systems include, among other things, master alarm systems with subsystems such as intercom systems, panic alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, intrusion alarms, locking and access control systems. You will also work with networks, physical and virtual servers, storage, and monitoring of networks in the aforementioned systems. QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, you need to have a genuine interest in security technology and security work. You should be proactive, take responsibility for your tasks, and independently drive your processes forward. You should also have a clear goal-oriented and results-oriented mindset in your work, as well as the ability to make well-founded assessments and priorities. Since the work is complex, good problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as practical skills, are required. As you will collaborate with both internal and external parties, good teamwork skills are also necessary. You should be able to explain and translate the technical processes to other employees in a simple manner, as you may be required to formulate routines and instructions for technical equipment, which requires a good ability to express yourself in writing.

Requirements:

  • Complete upper secondary education (read more via the link under the heading Other)
  • Work experience as a security technician, or equivalent work experience deemed relevant by the employer
  • Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish

Meritorious:

  • Experience and/or education in fire protection and fire alarms aimed at facility maintenance and alarm management
  • Experience and/or education in other security systems such as alarms, locks, electrical, telecommunication, and CCTV
  • Experience and/or education in troubleshooting and connections in telecommunications installations
  • You understand and master the English language
